United Healthcare Commercial Song – ‘Wonderful World’

United Healthcare Commercial Music 2015 – Singer and song information for the new ‘Lab Partner’ TV and YouTube ad.

Song Name: Wonderful World.

Artist/Band: Ezra Bell.

The original Sam Cooke version can be downloaded from iTunes and Amazon.

This latest TV and online commercial for UnitedHealthcare features a cover of Sam Cooke’s 1960 hit (What A) Wonderful World.

The version you hear in the ad is performed by the Portland-based indie-folk band Ezra Bell. There’s currently very little information available about this 2015 cover and we’ve so far heard no news regarding a full length version being released for download.

According to the bands Facebook page, Ezra Bell consist of guitarist and singer Benjamin Wuamett, Jane Igoe playing the cello, Evan Cael on banjo, Jeremy Asay on mandolin and keys, trumpeter John England-Fisher, bassist Anden Oquendo and Patrick McCarthy on the drums.

Ezra Bell released the album ‘Don’t All Look Up At Once’ in December of 2013, and the EP ‘We Came By Canoe‘ in June, 2015.

Including such lyrics as ‘Don’t know much about history, don’t know much biology.’ and ‘I know that if you love me too, what a wonderful world this would be.’, Wonderful World was written by Lou Adler, Herb Alpert and Sam Cooke. The song peaked at number 12 in the Billboard Hot 100.

The above ‘Lab Partner’ ad for United Healthcare shows a teenage boy who clearly has a crush on his classmate Maria. After being paired up for a science lesson, the boy is disappointed to realise she currently has an eye infection. However, even Maria’s conjunctivitis isn’t enough to put off this lovestruck student.

The video was added to UnitedHealthcare’s official YouTube channel on October 6, 2015.
