Cartier Commercial Song – Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend

Cartier Commercial Music 2015 – Actress, singer and song information for the new Cartier Diamonds campaign.

Song Name: Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend.

Artist/Singer: Karen Elson.

First up, the soundtrack to this commercial is a cover of ‘Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend’, from the 1949 musical ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. The song is famously performed in the 1953 film of the same name, by Marilyn Monroe.

The version you hear playing in the ad is sung by the English singer-songwriter Karen Elson and is produced by Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker. This particular recording is currently not available for download, but you can get the Marilyn Monroe version from both iTunes and Amazon.

In addition to providing the songs vocals, the multi-talented Karen Elson also happens to be the redhead model you see starring in the video.

The ad shows the 36-year-old being carried by a group of smartly dressed men, before taking a boat trip down the river. As Elson then flies up to the rooftops, we hear the new lyrics: ‘If you still want to party hey, go straight to Cartier.’

The commercial finishes with the red dress-wearing lady stepping on to a very sparkly ferris wheel, all this while showing off a selection of impressive Cartier diamond rings, necklaces and bracelets. Oh, and she appeared to be stalked by a panther throughout.

This 90-second video premiered on Cartier’s YouTube channel on November 23, 2015.
